iPhone Jailbreaking-Save 1000/- to 2000/-

Jailbreaking is a term that arouses immense curiosity among the iFans. Vexed of spending 1000/- to 2000/- to get your iPhone jailbreak when it is bought from some states?? If so, you are at the right place. So, let us start our voyage with a short prolegomenon to the iPhone.
Apple, a name that needs no introduction and iPhone ,a smartphone line of unmatched quality and awesome app experience, with its first launch in USA in 2007 and never looked back.
Jobs had a completely different perspective of phones, he never wanted to compromise even on a single feature which distinguishes Apple from the rest of the world , and for the very same reason Apple waited long enough to release iPhone while the whole world was zooming ahead in the rat race.

The i(E)volutionThere are four generations of iPhone models, each accompanied by one of the four major releases of iOS .The original iPhone was a GSM phone that established design precedents like screen size and button placement that have persisted through all models. The iPhone 3G added 3G cellular network capabilities and A-GPS location. The iPhone 3GS added a compass, faster processor, and higher resolution camera, including video recording at 480p. The iPhone4 has a rear facing camera (720p video) and a front facing camera (at a lower resolution) for FaceTime video calling and for use in other apps like Skype

Apple has been very particular about the third party applications and hence one can only use the apps that are available at the app stores nothing else apart from those apps can be installed on the iPhone.
The phone’s amazing OS, the iOS was initially designed for it and later extended to various other Apple products. The iOS 5 is the latest upgrade in this category. The iPhone's operating system is designed to only run software that has an Apple-approved cryptographic signature. This restriction can be overcome by "jailbreaking" the phone, which involves replacing the iPhone's firmware with a slightly modified version that does not enforce the signature check. But apple would be least happy about that and claimed that jailbreaking the iPhone would be copyright infringement due to the necessary modification of system software. However in 2010, Jailbreaking was declared officially legal in the US by the DMCA(Digital Millenium Copyright Act) . The first jailbreak application released for iPhone 4 and iOS 4.0, JailBreakMe 2.0. It may be legal but still can be the potential cause for voiding your warranty.

Tethered or Untethered??
A tethered jailbreak requires that the device be connected to a computer each time it needs to be booted. Taking place on a computer, it effectively re-jailbreaks an iDevice without losing data or restoring via iTunes. An untethered jailbreak allows the device to be powered off, powered up, and rebooted without the assistance of a computer.

The why and why not of Jailbreaking

Do you think that it is cool to join the rebellion cult by jailbreaking??.We leave the choice to you, but just read on to know whether you should jailbreak or instead chuck your idea.
Why?
1)Unparalleled Customization
2)The App Awesomeness

3)A bug fixer
4)A total control
You decide what you want do with your phone!. Jailbreaking gives you the power to do so by allowing you to install BSD unix subsystem and SSH and providing various other possibilities.

Why NOT?
1)Warranty woes
Once you jailbreak, it’s time to say goodbye to your warranty.Your warranty becomes absolutely void and so does your chance to get any kind of help from Apple.(Maximum)

2)Bricking
Cases of bricking have been observed in jailbroken phones by the Apple Dev team while they were testing the tools prior release.

3)Increased virus risks

Jailbreaking is generally unrecommended because the only two viruses that ever attacked the iPhone were concluded to belong to jailbroken phones.

Try your hand at jailbreaking!!

· Jailbreaking iOS 4.3.5 on iPhone using Redsn0w for Windows

· Get Redsnow
Note:Downgrading is concept to get ur iOS version to lower level if your device is not compatible or if you want to get lower level iOS version.

Download iOS 4.3.5 firmware and Redsn0w to any custom created folder. The folder should contain 4 things,2 iOS and 1 redsnow and other extracted of redsnow.

Get the required software and then next comes the major part, iTunes. We need to get iTunes by connecting our iPhone to the computer. After we get iTunes in our computer, our next task is to update the iOS of the plugged in mobile. (the process of getting into DFU mode has been explained below). We just need to long press home and then restore. We need to point which iOS it has to restore, here we move to our custom folder pwange created in the starting and now select iOS 4.3.5 ipsw Firmware and then click choose button.

Once the iTunes has finished updating the firmware, then comes the usage of redsnow application. Just launch it now.

· We can see the Browse button in the screenshot, now we select the ipsw iOS 4.3.5 Firmware from our folder,

· Then we will continue with the further steps.
· Redsnow is now collecting the data required.

· Then come the options in it. We have to make sure that Cydia is selected and then we have to make sure that our iPhone is turned OFF. Then click on next.

· Now we will go through various steps to make our device enter into the DFU(Device Firmware Upgrade) mode.
ü Press the Power button for 2 seconds

ü Without releasing the Power Button, also hold Down the Home Button for 5 seconds
ü Now holding the Home Button for 13 seconds more, release the power button.
· After this, your device will reboot and start updating the kernel and new RAM disk.

· We will just receive the message about its result and then if it is successful, we just click Finish button, else we just need to check all the requirements and procedure once again. Finally our device reboots by jailbreaking with Cydia. So, we have saved around 1000/- to 3000/- by doing it on our own.
Forgot iPhone passcode???
Ever kept a password for ur iphone or ipod or anything and forgot the password???Many times if u type wrong password,iPhone locks ur device for some time and then allows you to access it after certain amount of time like 15 minutes. But if we keep on frequently entering wrong password even after many locks(accidentally or willingly),iPhone disables the phone and gives a message saying iPod/iPhone has been disabled, connect to iTunes.Recently i have experienced this and i not much into iPhone devices,so i went to a shop and then he told me,i need to pay 1200/- for getting my phone back,Oops!!!
I just sat in front of system and gone through various sites and found a procedure and did on my own and saved 1200/-.So i want to share how did i unlock my iPhone,I never thought my first attempt to do this will be success,so i didn’t care to screen shots for my work, and later regretted myself.Anyway im going to explain the procedure very clearly and the procedure is absolutely working.
Procedure: Keep ur device plugged in to system(so that the power is passing when inserted to iPhone) and and hold ur home button and slowly insert the other end of cable to iPhone, and then keep holding the home button, then we will be in DFU mode

where we can connect to iTunes

and our iTunes will detect that an iDevice has been found in recovery mode and then we need to click on restore and update and then the other process goes on
We need to keep some points as iOS version, compatibility, jailbreaking it later and some others while performing this task.
(Jailbreaking and this concept has a mutual connection, this colum is mainly to show you how to make our iPhone enter into DFU mode)
Note:All the screen shots were of the device which i have done on my system, except the final screen shot which was not from my system,I have kept it collecting from Internet to show how it looks at the end for readers.By mistake i had forgot to take screen shot at the end,so for the final screen shot i have done this.

Hope u enjoyed!!!
Thanks!!!
